Discover Lake Louise & Yoho

Pick up is between 8 am and 8:30 am in Banff and you will be returning to Banff at around 4:00pm. Please allow 7 hours in total for the Lake Louise Winter tour.

The tour includes round-trip transportation from Banff, a knowledgeable local guide, visits to Lake Louise and highlights in Yoho National Park and lunch with a campfire experience with s’mores at Emerald Lake Lodge.

Guests enjoy ample free time at Lake Louise to explore, take photos, or walk along the lakeshore. Additional stops in Yoho National Park also include time to explore and enjoy the scenery. Timing may vary slightly due to weather or road conditions.

Yes, lunch is included. Please advise us of any dietary restrictions or allergies at the time of booking, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

We pick up from most hotels in Banff and at the train station, you can select your preferred pick-up location during the booking process. For drop offs, our guide will ask you on the way back where you would like to be dropped off either in town or at your hotel.

You are welcome to meet us at any of our pick up locations in Banff to join the tour.
Most guests choose to self-drive into Banff, although please note that you will need to find parking in Banff that exceeds the duration of the tour. You can park, for instance, at the train station, where we can pick you up as well. Please refer to the Town of Banff website for general parking information, or the banffparking.ca website for live parking availability. For guests staying in Canmore, you can also use the Roam bus service and disembark at the Banff High School. The closest pick up point to the Banff High School is across the road at the Elk and Avenue Hotel.

This tour includes approximately 1 hour at Lake Louise, which includes free time to explore Lake Louise.

Please be prepared for the mountain weather, it changes quickly, and our winter sightseeing tours run in all weather.  Participants can choose to participate in a lakeside walk during your tour.   Wind chill can change the temperature dramatically and we recommend dressing appropriately.  There is opportunity to shelter inside the Chateau Lake Louise.

To ensure that you enjoy your time outside during the tour, please wear/bring:

• Thermals/base layers/long johns.
• A warm shirt or sweater.
• A winter jacket.  Ski jackets can be rented from stores in Banff such as Snowtips-Bactrax.
• A hat and mitts.
• A neck warmer or scarf.
• Sturdy winter boots.  Winter boots like Sorel, Baffin etc are great. No trainers, sneakers, vans, ugg boots, or “dressy” boots. If you do not have winter boots, you can rent from us! Reserve your winter boots here and collect the evening before your tour!
• A water bottle.

Many guests choose this tour to avoid parking challenges, driving winter roads, and planning logistics. The guided experience also provides local insight, storytelling, and stress-free access to iconic locations.

There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 24 hours outside your booked tour (up to 10 days for group bookings). No Shows and late comers will not be accommodated.

Tips are not expected but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did a wonderful job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted.
