Canoe, kayak & SUP Rentals

From the canoe docks, paddlers can explore a gentle leg of the Bow River or follow Forty Mile Creek into the Vermillion Lakes. Both routes offer stunning views and opportunities for wildlife viewing. We offer canoe rentals by the hour. The rates are per boat (based on 2 people). There is an extra charge of $15 for the 3rd person in canoe. 

Kaying is an awesome way to experience the river. Check out our fleet of single or double kayaks. Depart right from the docks and journey your way up the river or creek. Rates are per hour.

If a stand up paddleboard is more your thing, check out our fleet of NRS paddleboards. Rentals are per hour and include board, life jacket and paddle. Guests must be 18 or older or accompanied by an adult to rent an SUP. 

Paddle up the Bow River and take in the stunning mountain scenery on a Big Canoe Tour. As you paddle upstream, your knowledgeable guide will share stories of the past, the rich history of canoeing, and fascinating local insights. Each tour includes life jackets, paddles, and easy-to-follow instruction on paddling as a team. Perfect for all ages, this fun and interactive experience requires no prior paddling experienceTours are 1.5 hours in duration. 

Join us for an early evening Wildlife Big Canoe Tour and discover fascinating insights into animal habitats, behaviours, and conservation. Escape the busy streets of Banff and reconnect with nature as you paddle along the scenic Bow River. Keep your eyes open for local wildlife—bald eagles, elk, muskrats, and maybe even “Barry,” our resident beaver. Along the way, your guide will share best practices for safe wildlife encounters and highlight the challenges these animals face with increasing human interaction. Surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, there’s no better setting for an unforgettable interpretive wildlife experience

Join us on a group kayak paddle to explore the Bow River. Check out the local wildlife, capture that perfect picture in front of Mount Rundle and maybe even catch a glimpse of our resident beaver, Barry. Connect with nature and other kayakers as you enjoy the serene surroundings and picturesque views. Our friendly hosts will help answer your questions and point you in the right direction. Please note that this is not a tour for first time paddlers. Participants must have previous kayak experience.
