Why Take a Lake Moraine Shuttle?
Unlike many of Banff’s other natural wonders that are available to see year-round, Lake Moraine’s access road is only open during the summer months. Shuttle services operate from June to October. As well, Moraine Lake Road is closed to personal vehicles year-round. Those interested in visiting Moraine Lake must book a shuttle or guided bus tour. Or those up for a challenge can also hike or walk the almost 20km journey!
It’s highly recommended that you book your shuttle ahead of time. We also offer several shuttles to Lake Moraine and Lake Louise, another must-visit gem of the Canadian Rockies.
Moraine Lake Shuttle Options for Everyone
Everyone’s itinerary is different, so we offer several pick-up and departure times. Early birds will love the Moraine Lake & Lake Louise Sunrise Adventure. You’ll leave at 4 am and drive to both of these stunning locations, spending an hour and a half at each. Watch as the sun rises and bathes the mountain peaks in brilliant shades of magenta and orange.

Wildlife Watching
- Moraine Lake is a wildlife lovers paradise. From the majestic yet graceful roaming elk to the cheeky, burrowing marmots found along trails—animals are found in abundance here! Both black and grizzly bears also call this area home, so if you’re venturing further out, make sure to stay aware of your surroundings and carry bear spray.
