Why Raft the Kicking Horse?
It’s no secret that Banff National Park is home to plenty of natural wonders including world-class trails, infamous peaks, and endless areas to explore. What you may not know, however, is that, located just 75 minutes away from Banff is a rafter’s paradise. Known as some of the best waters to raft in North America, the Kicking Horse River is home to epic class I-IV rapids for you to conquer with the help of our experienced guides.
Banff Adventures offers you the chance to get right on the water from the bank of the river itself (saving you plenty of time and giving you a longer ride on the water) and also gives you access to our exclusive river base that features hot showers, flush toilets and other luxuries you won’t find anywhere else in the wild!

Our whitewater rafting trips are suitable for rafters of all experience levels, meaning that you can bring the whole family along for the ride (12+). Our guides have your safety and fun in mind and will make sure you have everything you need to navigate the water as safely as possible during your tour. For summer 2022, our tours include:
The OG
The Kicking Horse Classic is our most popular tour each season and packs plenty of thrills and splashes for all to enjoy. Departing daily at 9:15 am and 1:15 pm, this trip treats you to 2-full hours on the water, as well as a chance to relax and unwind at our ultra-exclusive River Base, right on the banks of the Kicking Horse.
Book a Boat
Looking to stick together? Groups of 4-8 can reserve their own boat and make sure that your crew are the only ones on the raft. Great for team bonding, families, and stag/stagette celebrations!
The Last Waltz
Departing at 3:45 pm, our last trip of the day gives you plenty of time to enjoy the many activities in Banff National Park as well as gives you ample travel time from Banff (Golden is approximately 75 minutes away).
Family-friendly Kananaskis
Designed for families and those wanting to try out rafting on more gentle waters, our Kananaskis tours range from 1.5 - 2 hrs and are suitable for ages 5 and up. Transportation from Banff is available for an additional cost as required.
*Minimum age and weight requirements apply for all tours. We strongly recommend being able to swim and a reasonable fitness level for your comfort and safety.
