Journey through a land sculpted by fire and ice in Kootenay National Park. The trail switchbacks moderately for the first half of the hike, through regrowth from the most recent fire, allowing for unparalleled views down over Vermillion Pass back to Castle Mountain. You then follow the trail between sheer towering walls of Mount Stanley and Storm Mountain until you emerge in a land of ice and rock and may even find some fossils! You will be treated to views of Stanley Glacier creeping down the side of Mt. Stanley towards the valley bottom. The strength of your group will determine how high you ascend. Beginning from the Valley of the Ten Peaks at Moraine Lake, the trail climbs, really climbs, up to Larch Valley on a well groomed trail. After reaching the Valley, the trail ambles through a larch forest and then begins to gain elevation again towards Sentinal Pass. Ascending towards the Pass, views of the Ten Peaks, Moraine Lake and gigantic Mt. Temple will complete your experience. Trail restrictions due to bear activity make this a definite feather in one's cap. Tour includes hotel pick up, experienced guide and packed lunch. This trail begins in the Valley of the Ten Peaks at stunning Moraine Lake. The drive alone to this location is worth it in itself. We’ll spend our time hiking leisurely to Consolation Lakes and upon our return explore around Moraine Lake, including a trip to the top of the Rockpile. Beginning from the shores of Lake Louise, your hike will ascend steadily on well groomed trails. As you get higher, the colour of the lake becomes even more stunning and the crowds begin to disappear. Near to your final destination is the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House where cakes and tea are served all day long - be sure to bring some money! Just past the teahouse you will be treated to views of six glaciers feeding into the valley and Lake Louise. Tour includes hotel pick up, experienced guide and packed lunch. Follow your guide as they lead you on our pick for 'Best short hike in the Rockies' to Consolation Lakes. These secluded lakes are reached via an easy 3km hike from the Moraine Lake parking area. Lush pine forests, babbling mountain streams and views of towering cliffs above frame this gentle hike, where you are rewarded by lunch beside the tranquil waters of two small lakes under the impressive Quadra Glacier.  Tour includes hotel pick up and drop off, packed lunch, qualified guides and hiking poles (if required).

9:30am - arrive at Temple Lodge, Lake Louise Ski Resort area boundary. Begin hike
9:30am - 3:00pm - incredible guided backcountry hiking along the Skoki Trail
3:00pm - arrive back at Temple Lodge to board return shuttle
3:30pm - Drop off Lake Louise Ski Hill
4:30pm - Return to Banff. End of tour

Emerald Lake, located in Yoho National Park, is often considered even more stunning than Lake Louise. This guided hike starts on the Emerald Lakeshore Trail, a picturesque path that traces the lake’s edge and offers spectacular views that shift with the light and seasons.

The trail then connects to the Emerald Basin Trail, which climbs steadily through a lush subalpine forest. The moderate hike leads to a dramatic glacial basin, framed by cliffs and hidden waterfalls.

At the Emerald Basin, a peaceful valley with remnants of ancient glaciers, hikers can pause for lunch and enjoy the solitude before returning via the lakeshore trail.
