Big Canoe & Kayak Tours

The Big Canoe tours are approximately 1.5 hours in duration, including time on water.

The Big Canoe Tours include guide instruction, paddles and life jackets. The tour does not include drinks or snacks. 

The tours depart from the Banff Canoe Club, located on the corner of Banff Ave and Wolf Street. There is limited parking on site so please park your vehicle elsewhere in town and walk to the docks.

There is a chance of seeing wildlife on the tour and we often spot animals, however we do not guarantee seeing wildlife on any of our tours. Our guides have a lot of knowledge about the animals within the park and can fill you in about them if you see any wildlife or if you have any questions.

The Big Canoe Tours are perfect for families. Children will get fitted with their own paddle to use. It is a great way to escape the busy Banff streets and get back to nature.

No, participants do not need to know how to swim as they will be fitted with a life jacket. Guests will have a full safety instruction, prior to getting in the canoe.

We recommend that guests do not bring bags or backpacks on the boat as they might get wet. There is no storage at the canoe docks, so we cannot store your bags for you. Therefore we suggest you only bring the necessities such as wallets, keys and phones, with you on the day.

The tours will still operate in light rain, so please dress accordingly. The tour will not operate during a thunder and lightning storm. Guests will be offered a chance to reschedule.

There is a 48 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change/cancel or refund your booking up to 48 hours outside your booked tour (up to 10 days for group bookings). No Shows and late comers will not be accommodated.
