Welcome to the best seat in Banff National Park – and possibly the whole of Canada. More than just a sightseeing chairlift ride, the famous North American Chairlift (at Mt Norquay) is your gateway to an unforgettable, open-air journey into the sky.
Discover legendary, panoramic views above the clouds, wilderness teaming with life and natural splendor and endless, postcard-perfect scenery stretching across the horizon. Enjoy a 10 minute chairlift ride up to 7,000 feet at Banff Mt Norquay and experience spectacular views looking down into the Town of Banff and across Spray and Bow Valleys with the jagged edges of Mt Rundle as a feature for all your photos.
At the top of the chairlift you will have access to the historic Cliffhouse Bistro and get ready to say “wow” (and don’t forget to keep an eye out for some of our ‘wilder’ neighbours – Norquay’s often a spot for some lucky Black and Grizzly Bear viewing, during the summer months).

- Ticket includes a 20 min open-air chairlift ride (10 min up, 10 min down).
- Viewing boardwalk and sightseeing platform are located at the top
- Dine at 6,900' at the Cliffhouse Bistro - This is our 1950s tearoom turned modern bistro, for a snack or meal. Craft brews and wines are served. (Optional)
- Operating hours are: June 8th - Sept 8th: 9:00am - 7:00pm. September 9th - October 13th: 9:30am - 6:30pm.
