Johnston Canyon Ice Walks are a fun way to explore the natural beauty of Banff National Park while still sticking within your comfort zone. As a year-round attraction, when the temperatures drop, Johnston Canyon becomes a glittering paradise, with the thousands of pounds of rushing water that normally flows through freezes to create a majestic icy palace for you to explore. Full, jaw-dropping views, are easily accessible via the sturdy steel catwalks that make it easy to navigate comfortably. During the day, you’ll be treated to the full glory of the frozen falls and may even spy some of our local wildlife along the trek. At night, the canyon becomes an intimate landscape ready to be explored by headlamp. Bundle up and venture forth…you never know what you’ll find! Tours range in duration from 2.5-4hrs and include a special nighttime option for those wishing to up the romance and explore after sundown.
