Revving up for Winter Fun With a Snowmobile Adventure

Are you ready to see the Rockies and get your adrenaline pumping? For those wanting to get a little extra “kick” this winter, Banff Adventures offers several full day snowmobile tours that explore the surrounding area, all while enjoying the excitement of zooming through the snow with horsepower at your fingertips. For both our resident experts and relative newcomers, we invite you to read these tips to make sure your adventure is as safe as it is fun!
Be Aware of Weight and Age Restrictions
As with any machine, it’s important to make sure that drivers are capable of operating their ride with confidence. We require our riders to be at least 16 years of age and can handle the engine power of the snowmobile before allowing anyone to book.
Use Common Sense
This may seem like an obvious suggestion, but it’s easy to let the thrill of adventure get the best of even the most seasoned riders out there. One of the best rules to keep in mind while out in the wild is to stay present and alert. Always keep your helmet on, and keep your eyes trained on the path and your surroundings. Even if you’re familiar with the area, it’s extremely important that you pay attention to your guide and stay on course.
Ride to your ability
All of our tours will give you ample opportunity to enjoy your surroundings and satisfy your taste for adventure, so there’s no need to try and “show off” while riding. Remember that, while your machine may be incredibly agile, it’s also incredibly powerful. Stunts and reckless driving not only puts you but the rest of your group at risk. Stick to playing it safe; we guarantee you’ll still have a blast!
Use proper and consistent communication
One of the more challenging aspects of traveling via snowmobile is the noise generated. This means that using the correct hand signals to communicate directly and ensure everyone is on the same pace is highly important. Stay alert and tuned into the rest of your group to make sure you know what to anticipate next.
