Each Winter, Banff transforms into a snowy wonderland, full of visitors looking to hit the slopes and enjoy a taste of the Rocky Mountains. At Banff Adventures, we welcome guests of all ages and experience levels. For those with little adventurers joining in on the fun, a festive sleigh ride is a perfect way to see the sights while staying cozy and safe in the great outdoors. We also offer a more romantic, couple oriented ride in a real one horse open sleigh! Finally, for those wanting to maximize their fun, we offer sleigh rides as part of a package that treats you to an ice walk, as well as a chance to warm up after in the hot springs!
To make sure you enjoy your time in the sleigh, we recommend keeping the following tips in mind before you come:
Dress warm
Even though our private sleigh ride option gives couples the chance to snuggle under a comfy blanket, it’s important to wear the right clothing to protect against the elements. Bundle up with a hat (or toque, for us Canadians!), mitts or gloves thick enough to block wind chill, a scarf, appropriately padded jacket, and boots to keep your toes toasty!
Make sure the wee ones hold on
While our rides are gentle and suitable for children, we still rely on parents to keep our littlest riders safe. Please make sure both you and your children pay attention to the driver and are secure in their seat. No one likes to take a tumble from an unexpected bump!
Display the right horse etiquette
As much as our trusted four-legged friends love guests, it’s important to remember that they’re still gentle giants that can be easily startled. For the safety of the entire group, please make sure that everyone listens closely to your guide and that children approach the animals with the correct supervision. Unexpected noises or arrivals can cause lead to unfortunate incidents that are that are avoidable with the right caution being used.
Sleigh rides are a wonderful way to celebrate the season and to take a break from some of the more demanding activities available to those visiting Banff this year. Treat yourself to relaxing ride, and top of your day with a dip in the hot springs. Contact us today to book your trip!
