Hit the Trails With Banff Adventures!

Looking to get off the beaten path this summer and avoid the traffic in town? If you’re ready to put the “pedal to the metal” Banff Adventures’ bike rentals have you covered. Banff National Park is home to some of Canada’s most scenic trails and roadways, meaning that you’ll be treated to a first-class mountain adventure.
If you’re thinking about hitting the trails here in Banff, here are our top tips for making the most of your time riding.
Bring the right gear
Whether you’re coming from near or far, we’ll make sure to equip you with the basics: helmets, your ride, a bike lock, and a trail map. With those taken care of, there are a few other essentials you’ll want to have on hand:
Water
Staying hydrated while on the trails is a must, especially if you’re riding on a hot day. Even if you’re going at a leisurely pace, the sun can sneak up on you, and you won’t want to be left thirsty.
Sunscreen
Much like water, sunscreen is a fundamental element to staying safe and happy while out riding. Do yourself the favour of lathering up before and during, and you’ll be good to go!
Backpack
Bringing a small pack to carry your essentials is always a great idea, particularly if you’re travelling in a group. Make sure you have something lightweight that allows you to store sunglasses, your water bottle, etc.
Wear the right shoes
Flip flops, long laces, and wheel spokes aren’t an ideal combination. Add in the loose gravel and dirt that frequent mountain trails and you’ve got road rash waiting to happen. Wear sturdy footwear with tucked in laces to make sure you’re not in danger of any mishaps.
Take the time to study your trail map before you head out
It’s always a good idea to review your trail before you set off. That way you’ll have a better idea of where you’re going from the start, and, should you take a wrong turn, it will be easier to course correct. We’re happy to answer questions you may have about specific trails and will do our best to guide you if you have a destination in mind!
If you keep these tips in mind before you hit the trails, you should be set up for a fantastic ride through the mountains. Whether you’re looking for a full day excursion, or just to kill an hour or two, our rental options are flexible to accommodate your plans. Give us a call today to learn more!
