As residents of a mountain town, Banffites love a good cup of coffee. Chances are you’ve had an early start to the day and are craving a coffee buzz to jolt your brain back into action by the time you arrive in town. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of local institutions for you to choose from. A few of our staff favourites are:
- Whitebark - located at 401 Banff Avenue, Whitebark serves up a delicious assortment of pastries and Canadian sourced coffee and tea. Open from 6:30 am to 6:00pm daily, you're sure to a delicious treat to wake you up!
- Wild Flour - Wild Flour can be found at 101- 211 Bear Street and is one of the best bakeries in town. Open daily from 7am-4pm, Wild Flour is a great breakfast or lunch spot, and of course, sweet treats.
- Starbucks - Just because you're away from home doesn't mean you have to miss your favourite standby. Starbucks is located on 225 Banff Avenue and is open from 6:30am-10pm daily.

The good news is, several of our trips, including most of our rafting tours as well as a selection of our horseback riding tours, come with a built-in lunch or dinner. If the trip you’re eyeing doesn’t include a food option, there’s no need to worry. Banff is full of fantastic culinary choices ranging from cheap eats to fine dining. Don’t hesitate to ask one of your guides for a recommendation. We’ll be happy to point you in the direction of some of the best places in town.
Need a place to rest your head before heading back home?
If you’ve eyed a package that keeps you tied up for most of the day and makes the trek home a bit of stretch for the same day, you’ll be happy to hear that there are several options around town to shack up for the night. There’s something for every price range and every need, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about finding suitable accommodation. Bear in mind, however, that if you are looking at coming during peak season (July and August), you’ll probably want to try and book a little further in advance.
