Experience the Wonders of Banff with Snowshoeing

An activity steeped in Canadian history, snowshoeing provides a fantastic adventure for those looking to discover the outdoors in a new and exciting way. Take in the magnificent Rocky Mountains while enjoying the benefits of a unique form of exercise that’s suitable for all fitness levels.
Banff Adventures offers a variety of tours at different sites including Sunshine Village, the Continental Divide, Marble Canyon, The Paint Pots and Lake Louise. The minimum age for trip participants is eight years old, with some tours requiring children to be 12 or 13. Difficulty ranges from beginner to experienced. Parties must contain at least two people.
Each tour provides experienced guides and snowshoes for your party. Participants are required to dress warmly to protect against elements. Snow goggles are recommended to shield against sun glare and wind. If needed, our rental shop can provide a winter jacket and pants. We also suggest a light backpack to bring along your essentials (water, snacks, camera). Most trips include transportation from Banff to your trail location (the exception being our Lake Louise Snowshoe Sampler, which meets at the Lake Louise Ski Resort), and range in duration from 1.5 to 4 hours.
Travel across routes used by historic fur traders, view wildlife in their natural habitats and learn about our ever changing scenic backyard. Treat yourself to an activity that’s fun, challenging and leaves you with long lasting memories! To extend your adventure and experience more of the Rockies’ splendor, try our Taste of Winter package which pairs your Snowshoe adventure with an Icewalk through the magnificent Johnston Canyon.
