The Beginner Fishing Tour

A skilled local will guide you on your journey, bringing the proper necessary permits for your trip. Answering Your Questions

Do we get to keep the fish we catch?

You can keep up to 2 fish you catch, and your guide will help you gut, clean, and prep them. 

Do we need to bring our own fishing equipment?

No, when you purchase your fishing pass, it comes with all of the necessary equipment for the activity. Fishing rods, reels, tackle and modern electronic and sonar equipment all come with your guided fishing tour.

Can I swim in the Lake?

While you are allowed to swim in Lake Minnewanka, it is not recommended as the waters are very cold year-round.

What if it rains on the day of my trip?

If the weather is deemed unsafe for touring the lake, the event will be cancelled. But we recommend preparing for rain and wind with a light jacket and sweater.

Do you provide food?

The Black Anchor Snack Shop is located close by and provides a variety of snack selections, which you are welcome to bring with you on your trip. 

How old do I have to be to come? How much experience do I need?

Children of all ages are welcome on this adventure! This fishing experience is for adults and children alike to hone their fishing skills. You can be a beginner or a regular fisherman for this unique fishing experience. Children must be accompanied by two paying adults.
