The Whyte Museum is the centre for discovering the Canadian
Rockies, where people are imaginatively engaged in the
excitement of exploring Canadian Rockies art, culture,
and history.
Guests can walk through four galleries for as long as
they wish. The main gallery features art and artists of
the Canadian Rockies. The Heritage Gallery focuses on
Banff and its fascinating heritage. The Swiss Guides Room
and Rummel Room offer exhibitions of art or photography
that focus on the Canadian Rockies, or support larger
exhibits in the main gallery or heritage gallery. All
art exhibitions change at least three times a year and
the heritage gallery changes less frequently.
Guests enjoy self-guided walks around the galleries or
they can choose a museum tour of the main or heritage
gallery. These tours are included with admission, as well
as tours of the Peter and Catharine Whyte home and Moore
home. Visitors can also tour the Luxton Home during the
summer months.
The Museum Shop sells books, posters, unique gifts, and
art by local artists.

Ever flown down a snow-covered hill with the wind rushing
through your hair and looked down to see an inflated tube?
If not, you should try it. Whether you’ve never
touched skis or a snowboard, or just want to try something
different, snow tubing is a great way down the hill. Our
snow tube park, the only one of its kind in the Banff
area, has a snow tube rope tow and large sliding lanes
to go down along with your group of friends or your family.
It’s a unique way to enjoy the slopes, and another
reason to call Norquay home this winter.
Our new tube park this year also has a small sliding area,
and a kids play area. So there’s even more to do
on the tubing hill for your little ones.
